Donations

A major objective of the Walk 4 the Salish Sea! is to generate direct financial support for Indigenous-led initiates to stop construction of the Kinder Morgan TMX.

We believe in a multi-pronged strategy, and will use Walk proceeds to support legal challenges, political actions, and direct civil disobedience.

Proceeds will go to RAVEN’s legal defense fund, the Union of B.C. Indian Chief’s Coast-Protectors Program, and Frontline Indigenous Resistance Camps in coordination with the Sacred Fire Network.

Donations may be made by cheque, e-transfer, credit card, or paypal.

ABOUT OUR RECIPIENTS :

-Union of B.C. Indian Chiefs’ Coast Protector Program

UBCIC is a political organization representing First Nations in B.C. The Coast Protectors Program is a UBCIC-led alliance of Indigenous and non-Indigenous peoples committed to resisting Pipeline and Tanker Development on B.C.’s coast by every means; in the court room, at the legislature or on the streets, on the land on in the water.

-Frontline Resistance Camps

We will also be holding money in trust to fund Frontline Resistance to the Kinder Morgan Pipeline as such actions and camps arise. Our partners in the Sacred Fire Network will help us identify camps as they emerge and connect with credible contacts within  those movements.

Pull-Together

The Walk 4 The Salish Sea! is also a Pull Together campaign. Pull Together is fundraising to help cover legal costs as the Cold Water, Tsleil-Waututh, and Squamish Nations challenge the Kinder-Morgan Pipeline in Court.

Participants are encouraged to make donations, and also to seek online sponsorship for your walk (run, ride etc.) from friends, colleagues, comrades, and family – especially those who live too far away to participate themselves. All donations will be matched by an anonymous donor!
